Groovy Music teaches the basics of sound, rhythm, pitch and composition using pictures and animation - progressing to the study of simple notation as well as major and minor scales. Students love Groovy Music. It guides them with a simple voiceover and lets them create their own music as well as carry out directed activities, so there's plenty of room for creativity. In fact, Groovy Music is so compelling that once students start making music; they just won't want to stop! And best of all, it's incredibly easy for both teachers and students.
Groovy Shapes: In Groovy Shapes, the first of the three programs, children learn about basic music concepts. The Explore section guides them aurally through a series of progressive exercises which teach them how music works. They can then put into practice what they’ve learned by creating their own music in theCreate section.
Groovy Jungle: Groovy Jungle introduces children to notes and notation, ostinato, major and minor, and simple musical terms. More complex musical textures are explored, and additional instruments allow them to experiment further with their own compositions.
Groovy City: The third installment in the Groovy Music series of programs for primary school children, Groovy City helps children learn and create music in a futuristic cityscape.
